1938 Player's Contract Signed by Eddie Collins. While he enjoyed the responsibility of leadership when he got the job as player/manager for the Boston Red Sox, a position he held between 1924-26. His big chance came when new Boston Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey made him GM for that squad in 1933. What we see here is a signed contract dating from 1938 that secured the services of minor league player Al Baker to play for the Red Sox' affiliate team in Little Rock.
