Description
1938 Lloyd Waner Game Worn Pittsburgh Pirates Pants. In 1938, Lloyd Waner, an accomplished center fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, was known for his exceptional defensive skills and consistent hitting. Despite a relatively low offensive year, he remained a key player for the Pirates, contributing with his speed and fielding. Waner's career was marked by his agility and contact hitting.Waner wore these pants during the '38 season. The gray flannel pants have navy blue lining where the belt was inserted and trim going down the sides. A team instituted repair is visible on the bottom of the right leg, and "L" shaped repair is found on the backside. "Lloyd James Waner" is elegantly chainstitched into the waistline and joined by "Spalding" and "size 34" tags. The year is stitched into the button path. One small hole appears in the crotch area.
