Description

1937 Babe Ruth Double Signed Check. Just two years after the Babe retired his thunderous bat he made use of the presented check to withdraw fifty dollars from his Chemical Bank account in uptown Manhattan. All writing is in Ruth's bold black fountain pen ink, as is the "GH Ruth" signature at bottom right. A slight brush of Ruth's hand has caused very minor feathering of the ink here, to no significant detriment. The attractive and expensive framing job provides a window for viewing the back of the check as well, where a second (and flawless) "GH Ruth" autograph resides. Bank stamping remains entirely clear of both Ruth signatures. The museum quality framing expands the dimensions of the fine display to 21x24". Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Third party shipping is required.
