1935 Autograph Book Obtained by Rabbit Maranville with 187 Signatures Including Ott, Bottomley, Dean, Medwick & Wagner.
Ed Aylward had a distinct advantage over other youngsters as an autograph collector in the 1930's. Aylward's father was a circulation manager at the Pittsburgh Sun-Telegraph who hired ballplayers for promotional purposes. These were the days when ballplayers needed any extra income they could get. One of Aylward's close friends was Rabbit Maranville who lugged the offered autograph book with him and obtained signatures from period stars and regular players. The miles this book has traveled is well into the thousands. The inside cover reads: "Ed E Aylward 1935 Courtesy Rabbit Maranville."

Most of the autographs rate 9/10 or better with a few dipping. Most of the teams signed the same page or pages so there is a common theme. The long list includes: 1.) The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
