1934 Tex Carleton World Series Game Used Glove, St. Louis Cardinals Team Signed Baseball & World Series Ticket Stubs (2). Remembering the most glorious season in St. Louis Cardinals history is this selection of artifacts direct from the estate of star right-hander Tex Carleton, whose Championship ring from this year is also available in this Signature Auction. Our consignor, Tex's first cousin, was given this Goldsmith glove by the star hurler in the years following the Gashouse Gang's historic victory, and Tex assured him that this was the glove he was wearing on the mound for his Game Four start and his Game Five relief of Dizzy. As most kids would have done, the young recipient carved his name in the wristband and headed for the sandlot. Despite the combination of professional and amateur use, the glove still presents beautifully with some mild staining and heavy wear but no noteworthy damage. The accompanying ONL (Heydler) ball is Carleton's personal team sphere, with twenty signatures including Medwick and Frisch (clubhouse) on the sweet spot, the Dean brothers side by side, Durocher, Haines, Vance and Carleton himself. All are legible, with quality averaging 5/10. Finally, a pair of stubs allowed entry for one of Carleton's relatives, likely his wife, to Game Three and Four of that epic October. Each is a bit unevenly torn along the perforations, and one has pencil writing on verso, otherwise EX. All of these pieces, along with the aforementioned ring, had been for years upon display at the museum at Ameriquest Field in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers. A notarized letter of provenance from Carleton's cousin will attest to this, and to the provenance of the pieces themselves. An exciting opportunity to relive the Gashouse Gang's glory days through the personal keepsakes of the team's number three hurler. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
