Description

1932 Ty Cobb Dual-Signed Check. On July 4, 1911, Ty Cobb went hitless against Hall of Fame pitcher Ed Walsh, ending what was the second-longest hitting streak in Major League history at forty. Twenty-one years later, he filled out this personal check for twenty-five dollars ($25) cash in bold black fountain pen ink, endorsing the check on reverse. The signature on front rates a stellar 9+/10, and the endorsing signature on reverse is nearly as bold, but brushed by an errant hand to lightly smear Cobb's given name. A strip of the check stub remains affixed at left. No creasing or tearing. A fine example of a hobby staple. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
