Description

1930 New York Giants Silver Season Pass. Silver passes providing free access to the Polo Grounds enjoyed a thirty-year run among well-connected baseball fans in the first half of the twentieth century, and are widely coveted by the modern collector. This pass is the first half of a two-year theme, picturing three fans anxiously awaiting a decisive pitch. The 1931 pass (in the lot to follow) presents the unhappy conclusion. "Giants 1930" is spelled above "Chas. A. Stoneham, Pres." on obverse, with "A.F. Kenny" and the serial number"295" engraved on verso. Maker's mark, "Lambert Bros, NY, Sterling," is at bottom verso. Mild tarnishing, otherwise NRMT-MT.
