    Description

1930 Homestead Grays Real Photo Postcard. Marvelously rare artifact pictures this most noteworthy of Negro League franchises at the apex of its considerable powers. Sourced from the estate of team owner Cum Posey, this unmailed card pictures such Hall of Fame talent as Smokey Joe Williams (top, fourth from right), Oscar Charleston (bottom, far right), and player-manager Judy Johnson (top, second from right). Posey himself is here as well (top, far right). Note that the legendary Josh Gibson did not join the squad until late in the 1930 season, and as such does not appear here. White lettering at bottom reads, "Homestead Grays of 1930, 3-20-30," and photographer is identified at lower right as "Harrison, Hot Springs, Ark." Photographic quality is crisp and clear, and the card remains in strong EX-MT condition.
