    1928 Fro-Joy Babe Ruth Premium, Newspaper and Company Ephemera (5 Pieces). August 6 to 11, 1928 must have been a frenzied week for stores with a promotion of six baseball cards featuring Babe Ruth making their debut. The cards came courtesy of the General Ice Cream Corp. for their Fro-Joy Ice Cream brand. A special premium was also offered enticing kids to give up their treasured cards and mail them in to receive this handsome premium. Offered is that scarce premium plus other associated pieces. Includes: 1) Scarce 8-5/8" x 12" Babe Ruth premium. Grades VG with light corner creases; 2) August 9, 1928 Newport Herald newspaper. Eight-page paper with large Fro-Joy ad. Spine partially split, brittle paper quality at edges. (PR); 3) Four-page Fro-Joy Ice Cream Wholesale Price List dated to December 1, 1930. 3-1/4 x 5-3/4" (EX); 4) Hoefler's/Fro-Joy Special Offer Promo card for September 1930, 6 x 3'1/4" (EX+); 5) February 28, 1928 letter to client on General Ice Cream/Fro-Joy letterhead.
