With more Yankees on the back!

1928 Babe Ruth Signed Exhibits PSA/DNA NM-MT 8. As Opening Day of 1928 came to pass, the baseball world was emerging from a long, cold winter with a single name on its lips: Ruth. The iconic slugger's 1927 season was something bordering upon the supernatural, and there was not a baseball fan alive who didn't ache to witness his magical ways in person. Consider this--the top three home run sluggers of the '27 season wore Yankee pinstripes. Lou Gehrig was runner-up with an amazing forty-seven. Tony Lazzeri took the bronze with just eighteen. The Ringling Brothers circus wasn't the greatest show on earth, Murderer's Row was. And there was no question as to which man was the ringleader.

This blue-toned novelty card found the Bambino at the height of his fame, with the Yankees' second World Championship just behind him, and the third just ahead. Ruth would remain true to his "Swing big, hit big, miss big" mantra, yet again leading the 1928 American League in both homers (54) and strikeouts (87) as he'd lead the row on another murderous rampage.

Ruth's blue fountain pen signature rates a rather conservative 8/10 on the image side of the postcard-sized relic, which flips to reveal seven more signatures on verso: Durocher, Manfredi (Hartford farm system), Robertson, Thomas, Bengough, Combs and O'Leary. Postcard exhibits an expected degree of edge and corner wear, but an absence of creasing or staining leaves the aesthetics free of any significant distraction. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, NM-MT 8.
