1927 Benny Bengough Signed New York Yankees Payroll Check.
Yes, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig carried the 1927 Yankees offensively, but it takes a full team to win. Benny Bengough was one of Ruth's favorite teammates who garnered respect from his teammates. This Yankees payroll check, with a date of June 15, 1927 listed, was issued for the sum of "$707.52" to Bengough. Hall of Famers Ed Barrow (slight paper loss near autograph) and Jacob Ruppert signed the front in 10/10 ink while Bengough endorsed the back. The Bengough signature has a few bank holes going through it. A few handling marks appear. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
