    1927 "Babe Comes Home" Movie Document Archive. The Babe goes from the diamond to the silver--the silver screen, that is. Small archive features documents from Walsh's files relating to this 1927 moving picture. 1) Ruth's copy (unsigned) of the contract to appear in the film, promising no less than $30,000 for his starring role. 2) Two copies of Ruth's personal monologue script for the film, which begins with the line, "Ladies, Gentleman (pause) and umpires--I wasn't always a ballplayer--I used to be a pitcher." Each is three typed pages. 3) Original news photo of Ruth and Walsh on the set. 8x10", original caption on verso. VG-EX. 4) A couple of period magazine advertisements related to the film. All piece show mild handling wear but no significant faults.
