1926 St. Louis Cardinals World Championship Ring. The only team to vanquish the New York Yankees in October during the Ruth/Gehrig years, the St. Louis Cardinals sent Murderer's Row to the gallows in a hard-fought seven-game Series in 1926, the year that scout Charles "Pop" Kelchner was issued this Championship ring for his efforts. Beginning with the 1909 Philadelphia Athletics and finally retiring after forty years with the Cardinals in 1958, Kelchner was instrumental in signings from Chief Bender to Joe Medwick to Stan Musial. His well-worn 1926 ring features a genuine quarter-karat diamond at center of the face, where the words "St. Louis Cardinals World Champions" rings the perimeter. Bird and bats logos are still discernible on each shank despite the heavy wear. "C.S. Kelchner" is engraved inside the band, as is the name of the man to whom he later presented the ring as a gift. Size ten. Includes original box from local St. Louis jeweler.
