1926-27 Christy Mathewson Retail Model Fielder's Glove. The retail glove game is highly specialized, so we reached out to our good buddy Joe Phillips, author of The Glove Collector newsletter, for his input on this model. He raved about the intense rarity and desirability of those few surviving representations bearing a Big Six endorsement, a tally that could be counted on the fingers of this workman style. He rates the quality of the presented representation as "Excellent," noting strong stamping, intact lacing and an absence of tears so typical in ancient leather. The Goldsmith AG3 has an ancient notation on the wrist reading "John McGraw" with some numbers below it, but we couldn't suggest from this that it may have belonged to Matty's gruff skipper. LOA from Joe Phillips.

I am completely satisfied, more to the point, absolutely ecstatic, about not only the proceeds but the wonderful professional manner every aspect of my little consignment was handled.
