Description

1925 National League Season Pass. Issued by National League president John Heydler on the occasion of the League's fiftieth birthday, this elegant piece made the turnstiles at Ebbets Field, the Polo Grounds, Forbes Field and more spin for free eight decades ago. Imprinted on the interior of the small (3x5.5") wallet is "299, Mr. George O'Neil & Party," almost certainly referring to George "Mickey" O'Neil, the Boston Braves catcher who was fielding pitches from Rube Marquard's final season in '25. The piece is highlighted by a golden medallion measuring 1.25" in diameter and emblazoned with "1876, National League Golden Jubilee, 1925" in a baseball motif. Expected age wear is light and unobtrusive, leaving the pass in superb condition for display.
