    Description

    1923 Original Yankee Stadium Seat.
Close your eyes and picture in your mind the finest Yankee Stadium seat in the hobby, and it will likely be a carbon copy of the offered specimen. Purchased during the mid-1970's stadium renovation sale, this seat remains exactly as it was during its days of service. The Yankee blue overcoat of the paint gives way in a beautiful mottled pattern to reveal an earlier turquoise coat underneath. The wrought iron sides are similarly and charmingly worn, with just the proper sprinkling of oxidation. All wood remains solid and unbroken, with number "111" stenciled to the top slat. So much more desirable than the repainted, reworked seats much more commonly seen in the hobby. Plaque on the second slat reads "Yankee Stadium The House That Ruth Built - 50th - Anniversary 1924-1973 Bronx, N.Y."
