1922-30 New York Yankees Payroll Checks Lot of 8. The Yanks get paid. Eight payroll checks were issued by "The American League Base Ball Club" to veteran pitcher "Sad Sam" Jones (2), backup catcher Fred "Bootnose" Hofmann (2), second baseman Aaron Ward (2), Eddie Holly and A.A. Woods. Each is signed by team secretary and Hall of Famer Ed Barrow and president Jacob Ruppert in NRMT ink on the front, and countersigned by the player himself on verso. Several have light vertical center folds that are barely visible upon display, otherwise EX-MT+. LOA from PSA/DNA.
