1920 Branch Rickey Signed National League Player's Contract.
Standard contract secured the services of a player by the name of "Charles Roth" for the St. Louis Cardinals, though it would appear he never gained entry to a Major League game. The appeal of this document appears on the third page, where Hall of Famer Branch Rickey (as Cardinals team president) signs in 9/10 black fountain pen ink along with the player. Rickey, of course, is best known as the man who brought Jackie Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers. Contract is also signed by National League president John Heydler on the cover. Some limited separation at folds, but otherwise contract presents well. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
