    Description

1919 New York Giants Silver Season Pass. This was the first of the "fobs," starting a Polo Grounds tradition that would carry into the early years of the Great Depression. We're aware of only two examples of this 1919 model having sold at auction in the past fifteen years, so this third offering is sure to cause a stir. The simple design mimics a baseball diamond and reads, "The 'Giants' bid you welcome William Collier Jr. to the Polo Grounds, Chas. Stoneham, Pres. 1919, 232." Collier was an actor was starred in nearly 90 motion pictures. The final digits (232) represent a serial number. "Lambert Bros. NY Sterling" stamping appears on an otherwise blank verso. Some age wear is visible on the EX/MT offering. One of the finest of the very few passes from this season.
