1919 Branch Rickey Signed St. Louis Cardinals Press Pass. While Rickey's days in uniform as both a player and manager were undistinguished at best, his front office work ranks him among the most important executives in the history of Major League Baseball. Best remembered today as the man who guided Jackie Robinson across the color line in 1947, this item finds him around the time he served as the masterful architect of the St. Louis Cardinals' "Gashouse Gang." Offered is a St. Louis Cardinals press pass signed by Rickey for the 1919 season. Age and handling wear exhibited, especially on the edges, but is well preserved.
