    Description

1915 New York Giants Silver (Aluminum) Season Pass. For two decades, those lucky New Yorkers with the wealth or connections to gain favor with the Giants brass were rewarded in silver or aluminum, relics today that are fiercely and properly coveted by the cultured collector. An incredibly detailed vista of the newly reconstructed Polo Grounds, sprung from the ashes of the 1911 fire, commands the obverse with an engraved attribution to owner "John L. Golden" (a songwriter and Broadway producer of note), serial number "162" and team president Harry Hempstead. Reverse is a primer on official scoring.

Passes were constructed from aluminum this year as the First World War limited silver supplies. As such they were prone to bends and indentations. This example is no exception, displaying such wear from normal handling and age. The pass, however, is still visually magnificent. Pre-1920 Giants season passes are exceedingly rare. A thrilling relic from the days of Matty, Marquard, Merkle and McGraw. 3.5x2.25".
