    Description

1914 B18 Blankets Lot of 8, With Unidentified Flannel. Fantastic assortment of vintage flannel tobacco inserts. Eight pieces come from the 1914 B18 Blankets issue. Each measures about 5-1/4" squared. Included are: Babe Adams (red pennants), Jimmy Austin (red basepaths), Tioga George Burns (brown infield), Max Carey (red pennants), Cozy Dolan (yellow basepaths), Miller Huggins (purple pennants, x2), and Lefty Tyler (white infield). It was customary at the time to sew several of these flannels together to make bed covers and throws. Evidence of this is apparent on the final piece in this offering, an unidentified "Chicago" baseball pennant, with the stitch holes being rather evident. This particular flannel measures about 5x7", and displays evidence of trimming, as do all the offered flannels.
