1913-14 Baseball World Tour Homecoming Program & Other Tour Related Mementos Lot of 3. The idea of conducting a baseball world tour started over drinks for Charles Comiskey and John McGraw in late 1913. The barnstorming tour had no shortage of headliners. Christy Mathewson, Tris Speaker, Jim Thorpe, Red Faber and Sam Crawford were among the featured ballplayers who made the overseas trip in hopes of spreading baseball's popularity. This dinner program (9x12") was issued for a celebration dinner at the Biltmore Hotel in New York. The opening page features scores from the exhibition games and where each contest took place. Rosters, guest speakers and the all important dinner menu are revealed within the pages. The original envelope which housed the program and a 1924 tour dinner menu complete the listing.

I am completely satisfied, more to the point, absolutely ecstatic, about not only the proceeds but the wonderful professional manner every aspect of my little consignment was handled.
