Description

1912 Boston Red Sox Signed Document - With Owner James McAleer and Robert McCoy. James McAleer (d. 1931) enjoyed a lifetime in baseball as he played for 13 years before assuming the role of manager. In later years, McAleer served as the co-owner of the Boston Red Sox from 1911-13. Signed in 1912 is this Red Sox letter discussing payments to stockholders. Team president McAleer signed in bold fountain pen as did secretary Robert McCoy (a later part-owner). A second typed page is included as an announcement of a meeting Nov. 5, 1912 to discuss the payment of dividends. There are holes on the left side leading us to believe these were in a binder and subsequently removed. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
