1912-1915 George "Iron" Davis Signed Index Card. One of those utterly unique and fascinating characters in baseball history, George "Iron" Davis commanded the highest salary ever for a pitcher coming out of college and later pitched a no-hitter for the Miracle Boston Braves of 1914, who would eventually defeat Connie Mack's A's in the World Series. He retired from baseball after obtaining a Harvard law degree, was fluent in five languages (Sanskrit, Latin, Greek, Hebrew and Arabic), taught bayonet fighting during World War I, and eventually hanged himself. He is also one of the toughest autographs to find. Signed "G. Davis" (9/10) on a 3x5" index card which is matted with a photo of him as a Boston Brave. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
