1911 Louis Drucke New York Giants Most Popular Player Presentational Pocket Watch. He was known as "the second Mathewson" during his short term of service to the New York Giants, ably serving as a member of John McGraw's starting pitching rotation until a subway accident robbed him of his world class abilities. Presented is a thrilling relic from that brief burst of brilliance, awarded to Drucke by a grateful fan base shortly after the Giants claimed the National League pennant. The fourteen-karat gold Waltham case is engraved on verso, "Voted to Louis Drucke, New York Baseball Club, National League, as the most popular ball player, Knights of Columbus Bazaar, New York October 2-14, 1911." Watch measures 1.75" in diameter and presents beautifully, with only light handling wear. Does not currently function but repair should be a simple matter if desired.
