1910's Ty Cobb & Others Oversized Advertising Page. "The Georgia Peach" may have been one of the meanest players to suit up for a baseball game, but advertisers knew he could help sell anything. In this unique piece, Cobb's image, along with a handful of other players, is used to hawk baseball uniforms for a clothing manufacturer. The 16x20" cardboard poster was actually part of a material sample book used to sell clothing, with the verso showing samples of different fabrics. The sample pieces are no longer with the poster, but most buyers will be matting and framing the front of the piece, rendering the missing fabric a moot point. Some staining and wear are evident, but the image will frame up magnificently.
