1910 Connie Mack World Championship Presentational Desk Set. Baseball's most important skipper was the proud recipient of this artful object at the close of the 1910 season, which saw his Philadelphia Athletics topple the Chicago Cubs to claim the team's first ever World Championship. A very weighty marble base supports a miniature elephant figurine at center, and matching hinged ink wells at either side. At the pachyderm's feet resides an elegantly engraved plaque with the words, "1910 World Champions, Mgr. Connie Mack." The former ownership, ideal vintage and lovely aesthetics of this piece will make it a highlight piece of even the most significant memorabilia collections, and the condition remains essentially unflawed despite almost a century of life. Approximate dimensions are 8.5x15x5".
