1895 Cy Young Signed Personal Ledger Display. The fact that the top pitching award bears his name speaks volumes about Denton True "Cy" Young's place in the history of the game. In addition to winning 511 games, he was also present at the birth of the American League and the World Series, throwing the first pitch ever thrown in the latter. He's also the only pitcher to win a game in both the Temple Cup and the World Series.

In 1895, Young was 35-10, striking out 121 and walking only seventy-five. In the post-season best-of-seven Temple Cup series versus the vaunted Baltimore Orioles, Young won game one, game three, and the series clinching game five, which made his Cleveland Spiders the world champions of baseball.

Here we present Cy Young's personal ledger containing his financial records from the 1895 championship season. Nine original pages from the ledger (3.25x8") are double-matted and framed (38x28") in a display along with an inscription plate, photograph of Young (8x10") and ledger cover (produced by the one-time owner of the records, famed collector Barry Halper) which is embossed with "Cy Young's Personal Ledger Financial Records, 1895 Cleveland, The Barry Halper Baseball Archives."

One of the inside pages of the ledger is signed "Denton T. Young, c/o Cleveland BBC, Cleveland, O" in 9/10 black fountain pen. The remaining eight pages (written in black ink and pencil) mention Hall of Famers Jesse Burkett, Bobby Wallace, and Jake Beckley, as well as Brooklyn, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Washington ball clubs and players. A tremendous display from the Gay Nineties. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
