Description

1895 "A Runaway Colt" Theater Poster Featuring Adrian "Cap" Anson. The man who cut the ribbon on the 3,000 Hit Clubhouse got pretty decent reviews for his theater debut, a baseball-themed comedy that finds Anson playing the role of a manager convincing the worried parents of a talented player that the profession was not as shameful as many at the time believed it to be. The poster is the first of its kind we've ever encountered, and light restoration has disguised the worst of the effects of scattered dampstaining and a few short tears to result in a dazzling display. Visible area is 27x19", with museum-quality matting and framing completing the dimensions at 35x28".
