1889 A35 Goodwin & Co. Album Page, Slattery/Murphy/Hatfield/Crane. Goodwin offered as a premium to the smokers of its Old Judge and Dog's Head brands a 12-page lithographed album, available by mail-in in exchange for 75 cigarette coupons. The unique format included round pages, measuring 8-1/4" in diameter. These gems from the nineteenth century are usually collected and offered as single pages, and here we present a page featuring four players of the 1888 Champion New York Giants. Depicted here in amazing color are Mike Slattery, Pat Murphy, Gil Hatfield, and Ed Crane. Reverse shows various stats from the 1888 season and shows minor signs of wear, perhaps from its being previously affixed in another album. Page has been professionally matted and framed so both sides are visible to final dimensions of 12x12".
