1888 Buck Ewing and Timothy Keefe "Harper's Weekly" Magazine Page Display. From more than 125 years ago comes this historic piece of early baseball memorabilia. Originating from the October 20, 1888 issue of Harper's Weekly, this single page features woodcuts of Hall of Famers Timothy Keefe and William Buck Ewing. Keefe holds outstanding statistics such as 342 wins, a 2.62 ERA and 2,562 strikeouts. He won the pitching Triple Crown in 1888 and led the league in various categories eleven other times, including a MLB record 0.86 season ERA in 1880. Ewing is regarded as the best catcher of his era and one of the greatest of all 19th Century players. Inducted into the Hall of Fame's inaugural 1939 class, his lifetime batting average was .303. This display page only features the images and not the article. It measures 14 1/8" x 15 3/4" matted and is taped on the reverse. Also, it includes a yellow HOF postcard of Buck Ewing in VG condition.Auction Info
