Description

1872-1912 Boston Americans Stock Certificates & Scorecard Lot of 4. A very nice lot for the Boston baseball fan, this traces some of the earliest history of the team. 1) A 5x9" Capital Stock certificate granted one share in the Boston Base Ball Association, dated 1872. The left side of the certificate is chipped away but it still presents well. 2) Additionally, there is a 1912 Boston American League Base-Ball Club certificate for thirty-seven shares of stock, canceled in 1914. Other than two common fold lines, this one is in EX-MT condition and ready for a sharp display. 3) Finally, a 1910 Scorecard from the New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox (unscored) is included. Although the cover is separated, it is complete; 4) A newspaper clipping regarding the game from the following day. It was estimated at the time to be the largest attendance for an American League game to date, with over 25,000 in the stands.
