    Description

1871 H. Harwood & Sons Base Ball and Bats Manufacturer Advertising Card, SGC 84 NM 7. The dust was still settling on the American Civil War when this glorious advertising card was printed, one of the earliest baseball relics we have had the privilege to present. Even though the card is dated to the first year of organized professional baseball (The National Association of Professional Base Ball Players was founded in 1871), the slogan at bottom speaks to the company's status as an elder statesman in the industry: "The oldest House in the Business and manufacture twenty times more than all others." A detailed full-figure portrait of a bare-handed ballplayer provides aesthetic heft.

Verso holds a price list and images of thick-handled bats, a couple named for the leading teams of the day--Red Stocking and Atlantic. Card measures approximately 4.5x2.75" and comes by its impressive SGC 84 NM 7 rating honestly, with no visual distractions worthy of note. One of the rarest and most desirable trade cards in the hobby.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
