    Description

Circa 1962 Casey Stengel Game Worn Mets Cap from the Casey Stengel Collection. Fantastic wear on this earliest of Mets caps suggests an entire, painful season of use as Casey suffered through the team's incredibly rocky infancy. Number "37" is boldly applied in handwritten marker to the underside of the visor, which has a single crack to the cardboard at center. "New Era" tagging (with no size designation) inside leather headband. LOA from MEARS.
