2002 Sammy Sosa Game Worn Chicago Cubs Cap with Darryl Kile Reference & Team Letter.
Bitter rivals mourned together when Darryl Kile died before a Cubs and Cardinals game in 2002. A heart attack felled the pitcher before an afternoon game was to be played. Players on both teams put Kile's number on their hats as a show of respect when the series resumed. This "New Era size 7" cap was worn by popular slugger Sammy Sosa and has "DK 57" on the front in paint pen. "21" is markered on the inside for identification. Solid use shown on the inside. Authentication is concrete as a letter of authenticity from the Cubs will be included. LOA from Chicago Cubs. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
