    Description

Circa 1964 Sadaharu Oh Game Model Bat. UPDATE: This lot has a full LOA from PSA/DNA for the signature

Sadaharu Oh is widely recognized today as the sport's reigning Home Run King, responsible for a staggering 868 long balls in his twenty-two seasons with the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball, Japan's top professional league. Despite his enormous fame, particularly in the nation of his birth, painfully few game artifacts from his Japanese Hall of Fame career have ever surfaced in the collecting hobby. This personal model Jun Ishu bat (34.5" and 32.5 ounces) was originally obtained by a member of the St. Louis Cardinals during the team's 1964 Tour of Japan series of exhibitions. "Super Grade" and "Jun Ishu's Patented Hot & Distance" are branded on the trademark and barrel. No use shown. "Special Order Made For" is stamped on the knob. A letter from Leland's explaining the story will be forwarded to the winning bidder. The listing is completed with a Fukuoka Daiei Hawks signed piece of stationery applied to a thick cardboard backing. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
