Circa 1914 Ty Cobb Decal Bat. J.F. Hillerich & Son 40TC tells us that Cobb "Has Led the American League Seven Years with this Model," which would suggest 1914 (when he'd increase the tally to eight) as the most likely year of production. The decal remains about 85% complete, and any further degradation has been stemmed by a clear coat of lacquer sealing the entirety of the bat's thirty-two-inch (32") length. Some bruises on back barrel speak to sandlot action prior to that clear coating.Auction Info
