    Description

Circa 1909 Eddie Collins Decal Mini-Bat. They called him "Cocky," and with a lifetime batting average of .333 and 3,315 career hits, he could be forgiven for a bit of arrogance. The offered artifact dates from early in the Hall of Famers' quarter-century playing career, when he was representing Connie Mack's first great Athletics dynasty. Eighteen inches in length, this miniaturized Hillerich & Bradsby has weathered the passing of a century remarkably well, with decal loss confined almost entirely to the area to the right of Collins' portrait. Approximately 90% of the decal's entire area remains unblemished. Bat itself exhibits no cracking or chipping. One of the finest from the sparse surviving population.
