2016 Kris Bryant First World Series Hit Game Used, Signed Bat PSA/DNA GU 10. "We came out of the dugout for Opening Day," late 1950's Cubs star Moe Drabowsky once joked, "and saw a fan holding up a sign saying, 'Wait til next year!'" For over a century on the North Side of Chicago, baseball heartbreak had remained as certain as death and taxes, binding generation to generation with the sturdy twine of disappointment. One of the most dominant forces in the sport in the earliest decade of the twentieth century, the Cubs had transformed from the glory of "Tinkers to Evers to Chance," to the torpor of "Tinkers to Evers to not a &$#%ing chance," leaving countless millions of baseball fans to live and die within American sports' most notorious drought.

But if all good things must come to an end, so must all bad things, and that end came on November 2, 2016 when third baseman Kris Bryant fielded a weak infield grounder in the bottom of the tenth and gunned down Cleveland Indians right fielder Mike Martinez to clinch the Cubs' first World Championship in 108 years.

Presented is the game used bat with which Bryant recorded his first ever World Series hit, a first-inning single in Game Two off Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer. Anthony Rizzo would immediately double Bryant home at Cleveland's Progressive Field, the first run in an eventual five-to-one victory to knot the Series at a game apiece.

The gorgeous matte-finish Chandler Model KB17 Maple exhibits solid game use from that important contest, with solid ball marks on the barrel and pine tar on the uncracked handle. All key specs are stamped into the barrel below Bryant's facsimile signature, including caliper readings, production date (09-18-16) and length and weight (34/31). Knob bears markered notations reading, "KB17, 17, 34, 30.8," while cupped barrel end repeats Bryant's jersey number.

Bryant himself attests to the supreme significance of the bat beneath his 10/10 silver sharpie signature, writing, "WS 2016 Game Used Game 2, 1st career WS Hit, 2016 NL MVP." A holographic authentication sticker from Major League Baseball on the barrel confirms this history, as does another from Fanatics Authentic. Unquestionably one of the most significant relics to emerge from the modern game. MLB Authentic JB000491. Fanatics Authentic cert signed by Kris Bryant AA0003762. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10.
