2009 Derek Jeter Game Used & "Stat" Signed Bat with Jeter Letter, PSA/DNA GU 10. World Championship glory came early and often for the Yankees' longest-serving player, beginning with his 1996 Rookie of the Year season, and then three more in the four seasons to come. It seemed like the good times would never end.

But then, of course, they did--first with the heartbreaker of the 2001 loss as New York City was still reeling from the 9/11 attacks, and then another Fall Classic failure in 2003 to the Florida Marlins. From there, things only got worse, and five years would pass before they'd get another shot at the brass (or World Championship) ring. The Captain would not let the opportunity slip through his fingers again.

Presented is the finest lumber we've encountered from Jeter's last World Championship campaign, a signature model Louisville Slugger P72 that features every possible trait desired by a sophisticated bat collector. This assessment begins, of course, with game use characterized as "outstanding" by the experts at PSA/DNA, who note ball marks, stitch impressions, a weighted donut impression and moderate Mota stick on the uncracked handle. Grain on the barrel is swollen with punishment. The date of manufacture (2/23/2009), length (34) and weight (32) are stamped into knob, fully consistent with Jeter's personal preferences.

Finally, Jeter goes all-out in his autograph session, adding to his 9/10 silver sharpie signature an array of stats far beyond that which one commonly encounters on gamers: "09 Game Used, .334 BA, 18 HR, 66 RBI, All Time Yankee Hit Leader."

As one would suspect, the bat and signature are validated by the good folks at Steiner, the official game used marketing service of the New York Yankees. Jeter himself signs their letter of provenance. This will be one of your last chances to purchase high-end Jeter gear before his inevitable first-ballot Hall of Fame induction in 2020. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Letter of provenance from Derek Jeter/Steiner. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
