Description

2002 Barry Bonds Game Used Bat Attributed to 575th Career Home Run, PSA/DNA GU 10. The Giants headed down the California coast to meet the San Diego Padres on April 17, 2002, where the recently crowned single-season Home Run King showed off his power with a solo shot in the top of the first inning against right hander Kevin Jarvis, the 575th long ball of Bonds' eventual Major League record tally of 762. The subject Sam Bat Bonds 2K1 is attributed to that milestone blast, affirmed by an authentic signature and a secretarial notation on the bat's barrel, and an authentically signed letter of provenance from Bonds himself.

The sleek black maple exhibits outstanding game use with a wide array of ball marks and deep stitch impressions, bearing witness to the peerless power of this elite superstar. Batter's box paint still adorns the top of the cupped barrel, where length (34"), weight (32 oz.), date of manufacture (02 20 02) and model number (2K1) are handwritten by a factory worker. Just over a foot of grip tape remains in place on the uncracked handle, showing substantial wear that is consistent with the punishment to the barrel. An outstanding specimen from the pinnacle of Bonds' brilliance and fame. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Letter of provenance from Barry Bonds. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
