Description

2002 Barry Bonds Career Home Run #589 Game Used & Signed Bat with Bonds Letter, PSA/DNA GU 10. He'd already been walked intentionally twice when he stepped to the plate at the Toronto Sky Dome in the top of the ninth inning on June 12, 2002, so when Blue Jays reliever Cliff Politte ran the count to three-and-zero, Giants manager Dusty Baker gave the recently-crowned single season Home Run King the green light. The result was a blast into the second deck to conclude the scoring in a six-to-three victory for the visitors, the twenty-second homer of Barry Bonds' 2002 season and 589th of his illustrious career.

This is the Original Maple Bat Co. (SAM) 2K1 that did the deed, confirmed by the superstar slugger himself in both a bold silver sharpie notation on the barrel and a signed letter of provenance. The bat exhibits excellent game use, with deep stitch impressions on the back barrel and original grip tape on the uncracked handle. The details of length, weight, manufacturing date, model number and player initials are written by hand at the end of the cupped barrel: "34, 31.7, 05 31 02, 2K1, B.B." A picture-perfect specimen from the greatest power hitter of his era. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Letter of provenance from Barry Bonds. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
