Description

2001 Derek Jeter Career Home Run #94 Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10 & Photo Matched! It's one of the most "pounded" Jeter bats we've ever encountered, a signature model Louisville Slugger P72 that must have served The Captain for days or weeks before the grain separation on the barrel became too severe for continued action. But a thrilling photo match finds this bat in Jeter's hands as he swung on the first pitch thrown by visiting Seattle Mariners right hander and sent it sailing into the right-center field stands to score what would prove to be the winning run in the eventual 4-0 Yankees victory.

The included PSA/DNA LOA first raves about the "outstanding" game use, with ball marks, stitch impressions, ink transfers, cleat marks, rack streaks and the aforementioned checking of the punished grain. Heavy Mota stick cakes the uncracked handle. The letter goes on to make reference to Getty Image #51723131, asserting it is a definitive match to the subject bat. That photo is captioned, "New York Yankees leadoff hitter Derek Jeter hits the first pitch he sees for a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning 17 August 2001 against the Seattle Mariners at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx." This was the sixteenth home run of his 2001 campaign and the ninety-fourth of his eventual career tally of 240.

The bat measures thirty-four inches (34") in length and weight thirty-one ounces (30.7 oz.). An absolutely perfect specimen for the advanced Jeter collector. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Photo matched to Getty Image #51723131.
