    Description

2001 Barry Bonds Game Used Bat. Historic lumber dates to the controversial season that Bonds established the single season Major League home run record of seventy-three. The bat is uncracked and shows excellent use, with several ball and stitch marks evident on left, right and back barrel. Bonds' preferred manner of taping the handle is also in effect here. Sam Bat's unique style of notating all specs by hand on the barrel's end are in place, reading "34, 31.7 oz, 06 12 01, 2K1, B.B.," to indicate length, weight, manufacturing date, model number and Bonds' initials respectively. We may lament the "steroid era" of baseball, and while we make no judgments about Bonds, he is undeniably the face of it. Whether history remembers him fondly or not, it will remember him, and he'll be either the Babe Ruth or Shoeless Joe Jackson of the time, both of which would suggest strong investment potential.
