2001 Albert Pujols Game Used Rookie Bat. Imagine a Ted Williams bat from 1939, or a Mickey Mantle from 1951. Someday it is very possible, even likely, that this punished Carolina Clubs gamer will be seen in the same heavenly light. This bat first appeared at auction in March of 2002, eliminating any doubt today that it could have been used in any other season but the Dominican slugger's first. Brutal ball marks upon the barrel give some indication of the power that helped earn Pujols Rookie of the Year honors, and pine tar coats the upper handle. Red bat rack marks. Number "5" is applied in silver sharpie to the knob, and the barrel is emblazoned with the uncommon name variation "Alberto Pujols." Both the length in inches and weight in ounces are thirty-four. A verifiable rookie gamer from the greatest offensive superstar in the game today, and currently number four on the career slugging percentage charts after Ruth, Williams and Gehrig. LOA from Taube & Malta.
