    Description

2000 David Ortiz Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 8. David Ortiz was an up-and-down hitter with the Minnesota Twins. While he could slug with baseball's best, Ortiz also had a propensity to suffer through some dreadful droughts. His signing with the Boston Red Sox in 2003 came with little fanfare. Big Papi earned his stripes in Boston and helped end the dreaded curse in 2004. This Louisville Slugger model C243 bat (34" and 31.6 ounces) during the 2000 season according to John Taube. Baseball marks, dark blue ink transfers and black bat rack marks suggest extensive use by Bib Papi. The handle, which has athletic tape and healty pine tar application, has suffered a crack. Overall, a fine bat from Ortiz's "early" days in the Major Leagues. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8.
