The superstar shortstop bats .353 to lead all Yankees in Fall Classic sweep!
1999 Derek Jeter World Series Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 9. In a rematch of the 1996 edition that gave the modern Yankee dynasty its first of four World Championship titles in five seasons, the pinstripers showed no mercy to the Braves' superstar rotation of Glavine, Maddux and Smoltz, sweeping Atlanta to extend its streak of Fall Classic dominance to eight consecutive victories. After what remains a career-best .349 regular season batting average, the team's All-Star shortstop remarkably improved upon that figure against the Braves, posting a .353 mark to top all 1999 World Champions.Presented is a signature model Louisville Slugger P72 that saw action in that dominant October performance, its elite vintage assured by the presence of golden ink transfers from the specially produced baseballs used in the 1999 World Series. Leading bat expert John Taube characterizes game use as "heavy," noting ball marks, stitch impressions, cleat marks, heavy Mota stick on the cracked handle, the impression of a weighted donut, and the aforementioned golden ball marks that assure World Series derivation. Length and weight of thirty-four inches and thirty-two ounces perfectly match Jeter's factory ordering records.
A 9/10 silver sharpie autograph on lower barrel completes the package, one of the very few postseason Jeter gamers to surface on the hobby's auction block. With the guarantee of a Cooperstown plaque on the not-too-distant horizon, the time to invest in this Yankees legend is now. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 9. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Full LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
