Description
1997 Tony Gwynn Career Hit #2,727 Game Used & Signed Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10. The only man in the top twenty for career batting average who never played a single game before World War II, Gwynn is celebrated here with his signature model Louisville Slugger B267 used to record the 2,727th of his career 3,141 hit tally, recorded in a loss to the Reds in Cincinnati on August 5, 1997. Light game use is evident, with ball marks, rack streaks, pine tar and grip tape at the knob. Length is just over thirty-two inches (32.375"), weight just over thirty-one ounces (31.3 oz.). Black sharpie signature on barrel is 9/10. The bat's special history is handwritten on the knob: "8/5/97, CIN, #2727." Letter of provenance from the Gwynn family confirms the details. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph). Auction LOA from SGC Authentic (autograph). Letter of provenance from Gwynn family.Auction Info
