1997 Frank Thomas Game Used & Signed Home Run #16 Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10 with Player Letter. Known for his power above all else, Frank Thomas also had a keen eye at the plate. His plate discipline was display in 1997 when he won his only career batting title. Yes he hit 35 dingers, but Thomas finished the season with a sparkling .347 average which paced the Junior Circuit. This uncracked Hoosier bat (34.5" and 31.9 ounces) was used when The Big Hurt went deep off Scott Erickson June 6, 1997 according to the signed letter by Thomas. There are a number of ball marks and a blue stamping smudge on the right barrel which could have accounted for the point of contact. Thomas signed the barrel and added: "HR #16 6-6-97 .347" in silver paint pen. Light pine tar is visible on the handle while "567 131 96" are featured on the knob. The bat would have been carried over from the previous season given the "96" stamp. John Taube graded this fine example a perfect GU 10. COA signed by Frank Thomas. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
